Teach Your Monster to Read: First Steps - iPad Version

I can't move my monster!

We've had a few reports of people not being able to move their monsters once the intro has completed.

If this happens to you:

- Delete the app (hold down on the icon until it wiggles, press the x to remove it).

- Turn off the device completely (don't just put it to sleep, it needs to be fully switched off)

- Turn it back on. Don't start any other app.

- Reinstall the app via. the App Store on the iPad.

If this doesn't work the first time then free space on your iPad's memory by deleting unused apps.

If that doesn't work, please email us straight away on [email protected] letting us know what kind of iPad you're playing on (e.g. iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad Mini etc, and which iOS you are using (To find this, go to Settings -> About -> Version).

We will do our best to get this sorted out for you!

Sound problems

If you are experiencing any problems with sound on the Teach Your Monster to Read iPad app then just close the app and open it again and this issue should be fixed. If you have any further problems please contact: [email protected].

Multiple players

Unfortunately it isn't possible to add multiple players to the iPad app but this is something we will be considering in the future.

Protecting your privacy

This app does not collect any information about how your child uses the app and there are no in-app purchases. What does the game cover?

The game contains letter and sound practice for 31 graphemes / phonemes; (s,a,t,p,i,n,m,d,g,o,c,k,ck,e,u,r,h,b,f,ff,l,ll,ss,j,qu,v,w,x,y,z,zz) plus basic blending and segmenting practice. Some tricky words are also introduced.

How can I go back to the beginning of the game?

Just delete the app and reinstall. You can then create a new monster and start afresh.

My child has completed the game! Are there any more to play?

Our second game: Teach Your Monster to Read 2: Fun With Words continues the reading journey, you can play it right now online at www.teachyourmonstertoread.com.

My child already has an online account. Can he or she access this through the iPad version?

Unfortunately not. The two versions are separate and can’t be linked.
